Where have we been? Well.....
... Las Vegas! JP's Mom, Dad and little brother live there, so we spent a weekend with them.
We saw the water show at the Bellagio, which is my personal favorite thing to do there. I love the lights, and the water, shooting in beautiful patterns, playing in sequence with music! It's so refreshing in a place that never seems to cool off. Sugar didn't share my affection for it. She was more concerned for the ducks that were there on the pond before the fountains started, and worried the whole time that they were not alright. She craned her neck to see them instead of watching the show. They needed to be safe! OK. She gets her 'animal love' from Grama Memo!
This is how Blue experienced Vegas for the first time. In the stroller, mostly!
The Conservatory at the Bellagio was beautiful, too. Of course, we had to find the FROG made entirely of flowers to be truly happy. Recently, Sugar's definition of "cute" has become quite demented. She has used this word to describe snails, eels, potato bugs, worms, and frogs. All these I would call creepy before I'd think to call them cute.
We swam. A lot! Our weather has been cool, so far this year, at home, so Las Vegas was extra hot for us. I think we cooled off in Grama's spool at least once a day....
...including Little Boy Blue!
We took the Dam tour! Hoover Dam is really a wonder. To think it was constructed during the Great Depression was an amazing feat of accomplishment.
And looking down from the top gives a real feeling of vertigo! Yuck!
We played Rock Band with Uncle M. Sugar thought she was so cool. We even tried to get Blue to sing into the microphone... but he's still a little pitchy. He hasn't hit puberty yet. Ha Ha
We swam some more. Sugar really slept great, at night, while we were there. Could it be we exhausted her everyday?
Did I mention we went swimming?
We visited the Dolphin habitat, which was amazing! I can't believe how friendly they are toward people!
And Siegfried and Roy's Secret Garden. There were leopards and tigers and lions of all variety.
Sugar called "here kitty, kitty" a few times. But I was fine with them not coming when they were called.
Blue, as usually, thought life in Vegas was great! Life is pretty much great for him all the time, unless he's hungry. The best part of our weekend-away:SPENDING TIME WITH FAMILY!
After being home a few days, I was doing the laundry and Sugar caught me putting her favorite blanket in the wash and said to me, "No, Mom! Don't wash my blankie, it won't smell like Las Vegas anymore if you do!!!!" So, apparently, Las Vegas also has a smell. Ha ha ha
