But, teach them to fish...

The dad in our family L-O-V-E-S, loves to fish. If he could squeeze a little fishing in on a daily bases, he would. Thankfully we live very near a river, so that possibility is likely and not too time consuming. Since the day J.P. knew Sugar was coming to our family, he has wanted nothing more than to teach her to fish. He tried it once before, when she was three weeks old, and needless to say, the lesson didn't stick. But, now, at the ripe old age of 3, she's getting the hang of it.

We finally had a Saturday schedule-free and decided to get back at the lessons.
We figured the river was running a bit high and fast for a new little learner, so we ventured to a local trout farm, featuring rainbow trout! And, it was so much fun! Sugar's a natural, just like dad!
Every time the line touched the water, fish were HOOKED!! She smiled and giggled the whole afternoon!

She did say, "Those fish are kinda floppin' round and wiggly, but maybe they just didn't want their pictures taken." I didn't bother to ask the fish why they were so "floppin' and wiggly" so who knows, maybe she's onto something. They could be camera shy! (If you know differently let me know.)

It was nice to see that she really is a girl, cause when given the opportunity to pet her 'catch' or just touch it, her response was,
"Eeeiiwww, that looks yucky, lets just let Daddy do that part!" ...I AGREE!

Is there a trout farm around here or did you go to North Ogden? It looks fun and icky!
