Fireproof

I don't mean for my blog to turn into a book/movie review sight, BUT THIS IS A MUST SEE!!!!

And for so many reasons I would feel confident in encouraging everyone I know to make it a date night and watch this movie. Here's a few reasons why:

1.) Kirk Cameron gives his best performance EVER.... and believe me I think he's already pretty wonderful because I grew up in the "Growing Pains" era. He was always this dreamy, handsome and witty teenage heart throb to me, but now seeing him in this.... WOW!! There are just no words. I'm telling you: BEST ROLE EVER!

2.)This is a high-adventure action movie with plenty of intense scenes involving the firefighting main character and the life of a firefighter. So what girl doesn't want to see HOT fireman? And what guy doesn't want to see intense action scenes? Perfect combination for both! And only rated PG!! Yeah that's awesome!!!

3.) More than anything, this movie is a story about a marriage. Not a happily-ever-after love story, but the sincere hard work of keeping the flame alive and about being committed to making it through. Because marriage isn't about smiling when it's going well and packing your bags when it gets rough. My marriage has been the HARDEST commitment I have ever had to live through... and somehow we're making it. But it's also the most rewarding relationship I have ever known! This story is a perfect reminder to recommit ourselves through the good and bad, and to love our spouses (even when they don't deserve it, or when we're feeling too hurt to give of ourselves). Because a marriage can be a "happily-ever-after"story, but only with daily application, from both involved, to making it that! And only when we invite God to be a key player in helping us! I once heard a saying about marriage that I've adopted: "A good marriage is like a good casserole, only those involved in making it know how much and what goes into it!"

I laughed often, I cried several times, and I hugged and kissed my husband, and prayed with gratitude to my Heavenly Father that he's mine, after watching this movie!!

And let me know if or when you see it... Leave me a comment about what you thought too!
