I'm grateful that we are still at a time when Halloween, at our house, is about being 'Cute and Cuddly'. That's how I prefer it, verses gory, bloody, and spooky. However, Sugar is still not interested in being a princess or anything really 'girly'. She still wanted to be an Alligator... again. (I know, I know! I'm going to have to give-in and just figure out how to make her into one... maybe... next year.)
My luck on getting out of the alligator costume, this time: Our local Zoo has a new baby elephant, that was born in August.... So, that was the 2nd best thing, if she had to settle on something else!
We even were lucky enough to go to the Zoo with our preschool group the week before Halloween, in costume, to see our "little inspiration" and all the new little baby critters they have this fall.
Sugar was so funny about not wanting to get too close to the Elephant exhibit because she didn't want the mom-elephant to mistake her for the real baby elephant. Yeah, they do look like twins: aside from size, maybe!
But, there was really no convincing her, because, yes, she still maintained her favorite.... the baby alligators in the stinky, smelly, reptile building! Oh, so scaly, and green, and with those beautiful sharp teeth, and spinney backs, and slimy tails... well, what's not to love? (Correction: the Zoo website says they were crocodiles... but, whose to correct an admiring, warm-hearted 4 year old? Alligator, Crocodile...that's close enough for me.)
We do love our Joy School preschool group and had a wonderful time! That's what this time of year is just perfect for.... a light jacket, small crowds, a field trip, and a costume... and life couldn't be better! Happy Fall!
We may run into a problem next month, since Sugar has already decided to ask Santa for a real baby alligator for Christmas, since mom wouldn't let her take one home from the Zoo. OK... How do we get out of that one?

Sadie is the cutest elephant. I agree with you, Halloween is for the cute and cuddly...not gore and blod for me. Bryce wanted a polar bear for Christmas one year. Hope all is well with you and that your pregnancy is going okay!
Tell me you didn't make that costume! Way toooo difficult if you ask me, but somehow I can see the wheels turning in your creative mind as you sit at your sewing machine! Anyhow, she looked adorable! To answer you question you left on my blog, I'm just waiting patiently! My dr. still can't believe I haven't went yet. Her bet was this week for sure! My bet is that she starts me on the 23rd. I have always dilated really far with my girls (to a 5 1/2) and still have had to be started. Until then, I wait patiently and uncomfortably! How’s everything with you going? Aren’t you getting really close also?
She is soooo cute LesAnne!! Congrats on the up and coming baby! I'm excited for you. Keep us updated! Love you
